Hemp and Linen Overshot Heirloom Napkin
$135.00
An heirloom napkin.
This napkin is handwoven by me on a nineteenth century barn loom from undyed hemp and linen. I measure the warp, warp the loom, thread the heddles, sley the reed, tie on the warp, and in the end weave the cloth. The hem is hand pressed and stitched with the "invisible stitch." The lighter hemp threads form the tabby background and the linen threads form the pattern.
While these napkins are lovely as a set for the dinner table, I like to keep one in my bag to wrap my lunch and serve as a napkin while I'm eating.
