This towel was handwoven on a nineteenth century barn loom. I measured the warp, threaded the heddles, sleyed the reed, beamed on, wove the towels, and finally cut each one and sewed the hems by hand.
From start to finish, I make my towels by hand.
This towel is made of undyed linen, including the warp, weft, and the thread used to hem. The pattern is created through the texture of the thread floats.
The linen is smooth and has a nice sheen in the light. The towels are fine weight, and would be well suited to use as tea towels.
