Handwoven linen tea towel in m’s and o’s

$125.00

This square tea towel was woven by me on a nineteenth century barn loom. I measured the warp on a warping board, beamed the threads onto the loom, threaded the heddles, sleyed the reed, and finally wove each towel. I stitched the hems by hand with an invisible stitch with needle and thread.

The pattern of this towel is m’s and o’s, a texture common in the nineteenth century for linen towels. The floats of the warp show the sheen of the linen, and make for an absorbent towel.

The warp is undyed linen and the weft is bleached linen. The towel measures 21 1/4 by x 21 1/2 inches.

This towel is made by hand from start to finish. It is of fine weight and heirloom quality. It is perfect for use as a tea towel or a napkin.
