This scarf was handwoven on a nineteenth century barn loom. I measured the warp, threaded the heddles, slayed the reed, beamed on, wove the scarf, and handstitched the fringe.

From start to finish, I made this towel by hand.

It is made of cashmere and silk. The pattern is created by a grid of silk threads, and the wrinkled texture is created by the differential shrinking of wool and silk.

The cashmere is soft and quite warm, and the size of the scarf is generous. You can fold it in half and wear the scarf close to your neck, or throw it over your shoulder like a shawl.
